But it wasn't until the gospel and country singer fell on hard times that music became his focus. "I've become disabled, so music has really been a comfort," he said. "And I started focusing on it more and more. Now it's my primary interest. It's really important to me." Engle, who lives in Grand Island, recently scored a song on the KMA label out of Nashville. The album, called "Guys and Gals of KMA Records Vol. 5," is available at Hastings Books and Music in Grand Island. While capable of playing bass, keyboards and singing, Engle said he's working on his vocals right now, especially in the gospel music area, a genre that's always been close to his heart. "I've been told by a lot of folks that gospel is kind of what I'm good at," Engle said. "I wanted to sing something that I enjoyed and that I think people like." However, aside from a few karaoke appearances and performing at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, his performance experience is limited. However, he said, that isn't going to stop him from performing in the future. "I'm going to be performing in Lincoln for my church, and it will be my first real performance," he said. "It'll be before a big crowd, but I'm ready for it, I think." Aside from performing in a church atmosphere, Engle said he has no performance plans in the near future. Engle's interest in music started a long time ago, and he said gospel music has always been part of his musical repertoire. However, he said, it wasn't until he hooked up with KMA that he had to decide what musical direction to go. So, he said, he stuck with what he liked. "I've been a fan all of my life," he said. "I like to go with what fits me, and I think that kind of music fits me." And, he said, now that the chips have fallen for Engle in a musical direction, he intends on running with it as far as it will take him. "I'm living out a dream," he said. "This is a lifelong dream and regardless of whether or not I go any further with it, I've done it and I'm proud." ================================================ Hello this is thunderhead ,I am promoting my new web sight.
